A number of new products have been introduced as a result of collaborative development projects involving aircraft manufacturers in Europe and in the USA.
The product range now includes materials for low pressure/low temperature moulding ("out-of-autoclave") and for infusion of dry fabric pre-forms, as well as for the more traditional 120°C/180°C [248°F/356°F] autoclave processes.
Our selector guide is designed to help prospective users identify the most suitable resin for the end-use application, component type, and proposed processing technique.
It contains only the key processing or performance characteristics, detailed information is available from individual product data sheets.
In addition, ACG has been actively working with airworthiness authorities to develop detailed procedures for provision of an approved "public domain" design-allowable database.
The objective of this work is a large reduction in the cost of, and timescale for, certification of components manufactured from new materials.
The aerospace selector guide identifies materials that already have a FAA approved design database, and materials currently undergoing a FAA controlled design-allowable test programme.
